Vacations sure have changed since we had kids. It used to be we could plan to hop on a plane, hop in the car or even train it somewhere! But three kids later – a little more planning needs to go into things – plus a bit of an itinerary! We just had a discussion on our momstown message board about driving vacations in the United States. Here are 6 Summer Road Trip Ideas (and how far they are from Burlington)! Wherever you go this summer – happy travels and drive safe!
2 1/2 hour drive – Rochester:
– Museum of Play is a MUST
plus they have a couple of amusement parks nearby
4 hour drive – Cleveland:
Plus they have an aquarium, a botanical gardens, a museum of natural history and more
5 hour Drive Sandusky Ohio
– African Safari Wildlife Park
Substitute another waterpark instead of Great Wolf Lodge – Kalahari, Maui Sands and Rain Waterpark are all in Sandusky as well!
(We actually recommend combining this trip with Cleveland or Columbus and doing a bit of both!)
6 Hour Drive – Columbus Ohio
(both of these are voted in the top ten – even as high as #1 – in the U.S.)
7 Hour Drive – Philadelphia Area
Plus there are zoos and so much within a one hour drive of here!
8 Hour Drive – Chicago
Plus a Planetarium, museum of science & industry and an Art Museum
